I started Jessica Rose while on a journey of self-discovery.
When I was nine years old, my dad died. In a deeply flawed attempt to manage the grief - and to protect my mum - I made the decision not to cry. I have a distinct memory of making that decision the day she told me he was gone. And thirty years on, I'm only beginning to understand how that choice shaped me.
Last year, at 38, life hit me in the solar plexus. Every aspect of my sense of self felt like it was being challenged. Struggling with anxiety and insomnia, I no longer recognised myself. In one of my darker moments someone said to me 'it may feel difficult right now, but just focus on stepping one foot in front of the other and slowly, one day from now, you'll look up and the sky will look brighter, the flowers will be colourful again. And you'll smile.'
This brand is a part of my healing - a way to rediscover the parts of myself that I lost and uncover facets I have never known.
I wanted to create a space to reconnect with creativity, explore ideas without limitations, and enjoy the freedom of making something my own. And that’s exactly what it’s given me. I’m having so much fun, learning new skills, and dusting off old ones I've collected over a long career in fashion and marketing.
Jewellery felt like the obvious choice. My first-ever job was helping my mum’s friend, a jewellery designer, make necklaces. Every piece I wear tells a story. Some are never removed - treasured talismans collected over decades - while others make guest appearances with bold statements. What you wear is more than decoration; it’s identity, expression, and sometimes even a quiet act of rebellion.
I chose my name for the brand as another thread reconnecting me to myself. The quiet resilience of a wild rose resonates with that nine-year-old little girl who made a big decision.
Every piece in this collection has been hand-selected with love, sourced from all over the world; chosen because they’re the ones I wear time and time again.
Thank you for taking the time to discover my little project. I hope you find something you love.
With love and untamed magic,
